I had the privilege of shooting Karla and Ron this month in one of thee most classic Chicago weddings I have ever been a part of. The bride wore a very classic strapless A-line gown, and that traditional wedding feel carried throughout all of the aspects of the day.
I took advantage of the traditional feel of the bride and her bridal party by incorporating Chicago monuments in Karla and Ron’s wedding portraits. The tulips of a Chicago spring, the historic Buckingham fountain, and Grant Park all figured into our shots of the couple.

The reception was also held at a Chicago landmark-”Grande Dame of Chicago Hotels,” the Palmer House Hilton. The Palmer House is the longest operating hotel in the country and is known as “the Chicago hotel the world knows best.” Even though it has been recently redesigned, it still holds its 19th century charm. The reception was in the well-known Empire Room, which was gorgeous to shoot and to celebrate in. With music by the Ken Arlen Orchestra and floral arrangements by Anthony Gowder Designs, the reception was a beautiful, classy affair featuring the couple in a historic Chicago setting. The awesome groom’s cake (yes, that banjo is a cake!) was created by Take The Cake.

The couple travelled to and from the reception in a vintage Rolls Royce from Classic Chassis, and the whole day was organized by Claudia Antony at As You Wish event planning. The hair design and makeup was supplied by one of our favorite Chicago artists, Antonette White, and the bride’s look perfectly finished the classic feel of this traditional and unmistakably Chicago wedding.
